PICTURES FROM FIDDLER

4/17/2014

Dear SHS Musical Families,

First of all, congratulations once again to everyone involved in this year's musical for putting on a tremendous performance.  It was one of the best productions Streamwood High School has ever put together.  Everyone should feel great pride in what was accomplished!

We now have a fantastic photo gallery on our 2014 Fiddler Page.  A huge thank you goes out to the Haigh family for sharing these pictures with us.
This post only contains a few of the pictures, so make sure to visit our website to see them all.We would really love to put more media up on our site, so if you have any pictures from Fiddler, or from any other SHS musicals (Les Mis, Phantom, West Side, etc), please share them with us by sending us an email.

Finally, make sure to check our website often to see the latest information about next year's musical...........

Opening Night a HUGE SUCCESS!!!

4/4/2014

Congratulations to all of the Students, Staff, and Parents who helped to put on a tremendous opening night performance.  We have already heard many people say that this is "one of the best opening night performances in the history of SHS Musicals."  Now that is some serious praise!

Let's continue to live up to these expectations and put on some more fantastic performances.  Keep encouraging friends and family to see our show.  The performance gets even better when we have a packed house.

Mazel Tov and we will see you.... TONIGHT, TONIGHT, L'Chaim

Parents and Volunteers Needed Monday

3/12/2014

Fiddler Families!

We are calling all available parents to attend a “hair application/make up clinic” on Monday, March 17 at Streamwood High School after school.  While this is not required, we do need many parents and volunteers to assist with the application of hair and make-up during the performances.  We understand most of you work, but if you could join us after school at some point that would be a big help.  Most if not all of our males need to have beards due to the time period and culture being represented.  No experience necessary.  Come, learn, and have some fun with our Fiddler Families!

Please let Nicole Hain know if you could make it.

Additional All Cast Rehearsal Friday!

3/10/2014

Good Afternoon Fiddler Families,

Our Music Director Mr. Hain has asked that we hold another Sing-a-Long this Friday March 14th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.  We understand that this is short notice, and realize that there may already be conflicts. Please come see Mr. Geller if you have a conflict, so that we can plan accordingly.

Thank you for your flexibility.

Mr. Geller

Calling All Volunteers!!!

3/6/2014

Good Morning Fiddler Families!

It's the time to start thinking about tech week rehearsal schedules.  We
are hoping to provide dinner for the students during late night rehearsals.
Each late night rehearsal will include 80-100 people including cast, crew,
pit, and directors.  We are asking parents to donate food for the following
days:

Monday, March 17 (dinner)
Tuesday, March 18 (dinner)
Wednesday, March 19 (dinner)
Friday, March 21 (dinner)

Monday, March 31 (dinner)
Tuesday, April 1 (dinner)
Wednesday, April 2 (lunch during the all day rehearsal/preview day)

You do not have to provide drinks.  We are asking students to bring their
own water bottles to rehearsal.  You also can split the dinner with a group
of parents.  Dinner/lunch does not need to be anything fancy.  Some people
have brought in the past pizza, pasta, sandwich fixings, taco/nacho bar,
etc.  We will also need paper plates, napkins, and plastic ware to serve
the food.

Please email both  Nicole Hain at Nicolemariehain@gmail.com and Michelle
Ryan at pjryan@comcast.net with the day and items you would like to
contribute.

We will be sending out an additional email in a few days regarding
volunteering during the musical.   There are certain volunteer positions
that require U-46 fingerprinting approval. If you are interested in one of
these positions, but have not been fingerprinted and approved by U-46, you
can do so by going down to the U-46 district office.   We will be looking
for pre-show volunteers, during intermission volunteers, and post-show
volunteers.  Please consider helping in anyway possible.

Fiddler Volunteer Coordinators,
~Nicole Hain and Michelle Ryan

Attention Students,

We have had to cancel our Sing-A-Long this Friday February 28th.  Please spread the word.  While this rehearsal was optional for students, next Friday, March 7th, we have a mandatory Sing-A-Long for all cast and orchestra from 5pm to 8pm.  Please contact Mr. Geller if you have a conflict with this rehearsal.

Thank you and SEE YOU AT SET BUILD/REHEARSAL THIS SATURDAY!!!

Fully Updated Schedule

2/25/2014

Good Afternoon Musical Families,

This past weekend the production team finalized our rehearsal schedule for the remainder of the production.  Please visit our Calendar page to see all of the updates.  You are also more than welcome to print a copy of the schedule via the google calendar print options.

The schedule is very similar to the one that we have had since the  beginning of the year.  There are a couple key additions and subtractions; mainly a few Saturday rehearsals after set build, and one or two rehearsals that have been reduced or canceled (please see the calendar for specifics)

We are still holding to our word about no rehearsals over Spring Break, however, we will have a pick-up rehearsal Friday March 28th (during spring break), which has also been on the original calendar since the beginning of the production.

In order to make things run more smoothly, it is essential that every students is practicing their parts.  This not only includes any script that needs to be memorized, but also songs and/or vocal solos that need to be worked on.  Practicing your part along with a recording is a great way to learn/memorize the music, which is why we strongly encourage all students to visit the reference recordings page on our website to hear all of the musical numbers.  Furthermore, you can even use the recordings to help practice choreography.

As always, if you have any questions please feel free to contact our Producer Mr. Geller.

Looking forward to the home stretch!
